We do not knowingly collect more information than is necessary to evaluate a housing request, manage an active placement, or respond to an inquiry.

Match applicants and occupants to suitable available housing

Communicate about an active or prospective placement

We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without human review.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate BLC's business:
-
Payment processing: Payment and billing information is handled through our payment and property management platform, which uses tokenized, hosted payment processing. BLC does not directly collect, view, or store full card numbers, bank routing/account numbers, or payment credentials.
-
Screening providers: If you apply for housing, a third-party tenant screening service performs background and/or credit checks under its own privacy practices, which will be disclosed to you separately before any screening occurs.
-
Service providers: We use website hosting, property management software, and related business tools to operate BLC. These providers may process personal information on our behalf, under confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and only for the purposes we direct.
-
Referring organizations: If your housing is arranged through an employer, relocation company, or insurance provider, we may share placement-relevant information back to that organization.
-
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BLC, our occupants, or others.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy — generally for the duration of an active inquiry or placement, plus a reasonable period afterward to satisfy accounting, tax, legal, and record-keeping obligations. Records are then securely deleted or archived in accordance with our internal record-retention practices.
5. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
-
Request access to the personal information we hold about you
-
Request correction of inaccurate information
-
Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and business record-keeping requirements
-
Request a copy of your information in a portable format
-
Opt out of having your information used for targeted advertising or sold (BLC does not currently engage in either practice)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 9. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.
6. Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly, remember basic preferences, and understand general site usage through standard analytics tools provided by our website platform. We do not currently use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site tracking. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some site functionality.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including restricted access to sensitive records, password and multi-factor authentication requirements for internal systems, and hosted/tokenized payment processing so that card and bank details never pass through our own forms or storage. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to us.
8. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it. Minors may be included as part of a household's housing application submitted by a parent or guardian; this policy applies to that information as submitted.
